Take a look at what’s happening this December with Feather & Hay textiles.
Decorating with Evergreens this Christmas
I’ll be getting my Christmas on this year with plenty of evergreen decorations. I love finding evergreen branches to decorate the house. Celebrating Yule in Scotland involved decorating the home with Holly, Pine and other evergreens as a reminder that life is eternal despite the cold. I love creating simple decor. Adding gold bells and simple ribbons to the green branches that get hung high on walls and across doorways. Remember to join me over on Instagram to see Scotland in winter and the evergreen decorations.
Giant Scarf Restock
I am so happy that you have loved the giant scarves as much as I have. I sold out the first small runs of the three designs so made some time to weave a second run. Last month I was busy weaving Sitheah and Eske Esk and they are available on the website now. The Thraw Giant Scarf will be hand woven in darker Merino Lambswool in December. You can pre-book a Thraw scarf and I will send them out by 10th December, if you want them in time for Christmas please see the final ordering dates below.
Due to the nature of hand weaving I only create small runs of each design. There are some pieces that only have one piece left. After the small run of Thraw I will not be able to re-weave the designs until 2022. VIPs get a special Christmas discount soon. Keep an eye out for the latest email! Order as soon as possible if you’d like a hand woven scarf or shawl for Christmas

Things to look out for
Moving forward into 2021 I have two new exciting projects I can’t wait to tell you more about. Firstly I will be weaving a plaid especially designed for Gretchen Greer. I have mentioned her over on Instagram, she as a beautiful account (worth a look and follow!). The plaid will be inspired by Burgundy in winter. Have a look here for an introduction to the project. Secondly I have designed a cosy hood to wear with the giant scarves. Each one is made to order with a Cotton velvet lining and silk or velvet ribbon.
