The Story behind the Night Roaming
Night Roaming – a shortie textured and soft baby wrap. Woven in a favourite Crackle (used in the Christmas Lights warp in 2016) that many of our baby wearers tell us works fabulously in a baby wrap, this wrap might be a ‘shortie’ but will hold it’s own. Night Roaming is from the Wolf warp and named for its deep Navy weft that brings depth and quality to the warp’s greys & lilacs. Like the night skies far from urban life, just as dawn light appears on the horizon. The viewpoint of a wolf pack roaming the night.
The wrap has a thick feel to handle but doesn’t feel overly bulky – you will tie a knot without trouble. Great for younger babies as the Bamboo weft provides softness and comfort against the skin but will be strong enough for toddlers too. The wrap is 296cm and is 50% Cotton & 50% Bamboo.
The wrap has navy, multiple blues, grey, lilacs and the occasional vibrant pink thread across the Cotton warp and the weft is a dark navy Bamboo. The weave pattern is a Crackle weave that creates triangles repeated together that can look like stars, you will find the pattern can transform depending how you have tied the wrap.

How do I wash my hand woven item?
To preserve the beauty and magic of your Feather & Hay textile it is best to hand wash and line dry when required.
You do not need to pre-wash your item, each piece has been finished read for immediate use.
For plant based (cellulose) fibres use a non-bio detergent in hand warm water. Ecover is a good example of a gentle detergent.
For animal based (protein) fibres use a detergent suitable for delicates (often described as ‘for wool or silk’). Keep the temperature just warm to the hand and try not to agitate the fabric when washing. Remember felting can occur with heat, water & friction!
