A collection based around the changeable and moody grey tones of a British sky. Bringing together two very different weaves to represent tranquility and drama this warp can be mixed with pastel, monochrome or bright colours.

Skyscape Semi-Custom: Choose a weft fibre, colour and length

Book your Skyscape Semi-Custom slot with a £100 deposit for baby wraps or a £30 for Square scarves.

This secures a semi-custom piece on the Skyscape warp being woven in July & August.

The width is set at 32″ but you can choose the length woven dependent on availability.

How does a SkyScape Semi-Custom work?

The warp is hand painted in a range of moody greys. The colour sits between charcoal and ink.

The Skyscape warp colours are inspired by moody Scottish Skies. The weft colours will have an impact on the overall look of your piece. Feather & Hay will be weaving pastel and neutral colours with some ‘splatter’ dyed yarns too. The client can discuss their requirements once the slot has been booked.

There will be two warp options for this collection. The first is a Supima Cotton warp the second a blend of Viscose Rose and Mulberry Silk. Choose from a wide range of weft fibres to compliment. Read more on fibres.

There are two different weave patterns to choose from.

Weave Pattern 1: Spot weave (like plain weave with some ‘skipped’ threads to create the spot). Simple but pretty!

Weave pattern – option 1

Weave Pattern 2: is a variation on Bonnie Inouye’s Network Drafted twill. This behaves like an Overshot as there is a tabby alongside the pattern thread.
